Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner Announces @CDInews Twitter Account
Social Media to Broaden Department’s Reach to Diverse Constituencies
Insurance Commissioner Steve Poizner today introduced a new way for Californians to receive helpful tips and news from the California Department of Insurance (CDI) - the state's largest consumer protection agency - by launching an official Twitter account, @CDInews.
"I am always looking for new ways to reach out to and engage more consumers, and I am glad that we can take advantage of an innovative tool like Twitter to share useful tips and alerts with Californians," said Commissioner Poizner. "The Department of Insurance is the largest consumer protection agency in the state, and expanding the means of communication with the public is vital to maintaining our high standards of service to consumers."
The CDI Twitter account @CDInews is available to anyone with a Twitter account. To get the latest CDI updates on Twitter, including fraud arrests in your area and tips for making sure you have adequate insurance, go to http://twitter.com/CDInews.
