6 With an additive warranty, the obligor is a company that manufactures an additive that you(or some- one else) pour into your car’s gas tank, engine, radiator, transmission, et cetera. The manufacturer of the additive promises that if you use its additive, it will repair listed parts that break. If someone tries to sell you an additive warranty in-person, by phone, by mail or over the internet after January 1, 2017, do not buy it, and please report the person and company to the California Department of Insurance.
