Commissioner Lara Moves Forward on New Insurance Rate Reforms
Commissioner Lara Moves Forward on New Insurance Rate Reforms August 9, 2024 —Insurance Commissioner Ricardo Lara is taking action to help fix the state’s insurance crisis as part of his “Sustainable Insurance Strategy. ” His latest action announced earlier today, which focuses on reducing unnecessary delays in the review of insurance rates, is critical to getting insurance companies back into California’s market. With this action, Commissioner Lara is holding everyone in the process accountable – and he has been working with Governor Newsom on these long-needed changes. |
Today’s action keeps California on track for completing the largest insurance reform in 30 years by December 2024. When this is complete, insurance companies will return to writing policies and giving Californians the options, that they deserve.
